Hi friend.
We all feel it. The time has changed dramatically and the Big Shift is here; the Global Awakening of humanity is dawning. Call it what you will, it is evolutionarily vast in scope.
Our mighty post-Industrial Age,
our technological Information Age,
our Multi-media saturated Global Mind...
is changing.
It's changing its mind.
It is deciding to work in different ways, and
for different values.
BUT....
And you know what I'm going to say here...
"The Basic Human Needs Are Still The Same!"
What the oldest book in the world, the I Ching (which means 'the Book of Change' in Chinese), has to say about change is, that CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANTinfinitely vast in its potential, in all forms, dimensions, directions, and energies.
I won't go into the more scientific ramifications of how that all applies here in our modern world. I know it is obvious to you or you would not be reading this blog. You're probably wondering what my point is.
WHAT I WILL TELL YOU IS, "THIS ANCIENT BOOK OF WISDOM REVEALS THE (shhhhhh!) secret"
It is buried in a well known hexagram called "the Well"--have you ever checked it out?
In the translation commentaries, we are told that the well represents the source of nourishment within the earth that sustains the life of the community. The people draw this needed sustenance for themselves and their crops from a source that is always there, and that they always need.
This is a stark way to see the human relationship with nature, but this is ancient wisdom we are talking here, not "modern".
THE SECRET that is revealed in this hexagram by the ancient teachers is that the people,—always needing the sustenance in the earth, find a way to get it.
Maybe they start with a bucket and a rope. Maybe this works for awhile, but then the rope breaks, or the well is lower and the rope is no longer long enough, or the bucket is old and falling apart, or the bucket just ain't big enough for the growing community's needs...You get the picture.
"Obviously" say the masters of the I Ching, the rope and bucket metaphorically represent the
"MEANS" by which humanity gets their basic needs met from the earth. This "means" involves political
systems and economic
systems as well as all the tooling up and manufacturing
systems, along with their transportation
systems..Etcetera.
The idea here,
the really key part of this simple secret,
staring us all in the face
ever since the first book humanity ever recorded
is.....
The needs of humanityandthe resources in the earthare always there---
IT IS THE SYSTEMS THAT CHANGE!
Marketers, networkers, social change artists, activists, evolutionary agents, andto put it in terms that are now defined more clearlythe positive deviants of the worldall are seeking each other to integrate their talents, because they are the real major instigators of big transformational change.
But this is a value-driven search.
Values of sustainable resources,
health, wealth, and cultural security.
It is driven by a massive human cellular gene pool of 55 trillion cells (in each human body) times 6.5 billion bodies programmed for survival and adaptability--the state of the art organism in evolution----------------*HUMANITY*
This historic moment is the Tsunami wave of consciousness that shifts everything.War is not the rope or bucket anymore.
Soon petroleum will not be either as its limited resource dries up.
How are 6.500,000,000 (who by then will be 12 billion) people going to drive to work or get their bananas for breakfast?
So what do you think people are going to want? And guess how much they are going to be willing to payjust as long as they can keep doing "business as usual" and meeting their basic human needs?
What corporation in the world who is serious about surviving
is not thinking about these things RIGHT NOW?!
There are some of us on the Internet who are tired of using hype systemsthe kind of hype systems that creates millionaires in minutes through clever word games and fancy marketing techniques, selling garbage at top dollar, manipulating the Internet environment for their own "see ya later, sucker, I'm retiring in Brazil while the world goes down, see ya later...when-I-need-more-money"those types of "SYSTEMS".
You know, using the kind of trash in your email 'in-box' that promises the same "secret" for that almost-out-of-reach-but-risk-free-fool-proof deal. The urgency they can make us feel, the copywriting geniuses of all time that they are, whew makes my head swim.
BUT WHAT I'M REALLY GETTING TO IS THAT
THIS IS A NATURAL FEELING.
WE ARE A COLLECTIVE MIND WAKING UP. Those scam deals wont float much longer for me and other marketers. You know, the kind of networkers that realize,
*whether it is *product* or a *good cause*, we have to take it to market to get folks to buy it....
*because we have a prime directive from evolution
to market the transformation of humanity on Earth!*
We want to maintain marketing integrity, not rip off the Earth or people.
So I suggest, starting here with this blog,
we begin to collect
*the appropriate marketing*
programs,
techniques,
and products;
the kind that help the transformation to a healthy balance of life on Earth
*for both Humanity and all of Nature*
In other words, beginning here,
with this blog as a place to talk about these things,
we form a safelist group here through Cash Dharma that only gets into listbuilding
*for "appropriate" marketing techniques, programs, and products.*
THIS LIST WILL GROW huge IN THE NEXT 6 YEARS OF GLOBAL WARMING AND AGING BOOMERS!
The shift in world economics is trending toward "appropriate" "MEANS"
and
MARKETING
is the evolutionary forefront of the change!
* "or else, ain't nobody gonna buy it." *
*Supply and demand, or demand and supply*
it's all the same thing in the end
Basic Human Needs
It's the systems we are changing as we change ourselves.

2nd CASH DHARMA BLOG POST:
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006!

"NOTHING IS EXTERNAL TO THE SELF"
This is a picture of Ramana I put into a special collage. I call it "Between Two Worlds" but I use my favorite quote from him with it to describe the KEY to EVERYTHING!
It really is this simple, I'm not telling you anything you do not know, but now more than ever we need to pay attention to this wisdom from Ramana.
Personally speaking, I believe the link below is an EMPOWERING resource that helps us to manifest the truth Ramana speaks of when he said, "Nothing is external to the Self."
Mark Joyner has made more money online than you or I even dream of. His simple--but essential--Simpleology technique is a prerequisite for success in anyone's life. Mark presents it better than anyone I ever came in contact with.
In fact, I have never seen such an amazingly powerful resource for free, anywhere! Mark's Simpleology course is essential for any practical application of integrity to our life.
Check out the free videos at this link and take on the coursethe only price you pay is 15 minutes of your time and attention everydaywhat you get is 15 times as much done!
Without defining our goals and understanding the 5 laws of simpleology and how they apply to manifesting and making the best use of our time, energy, moneywe will never make it happenwe will never be successful without knowing the goal of "our" own personal success.
Please begin your adventure into the CASHDHARMA Blog by visiting and understanding these principles of Simpleology. And begin your adventure into understanding what Cash Dharma is by defining your goal, so you can aim in a straight line and hit it.
Thank you.

I just finished reading Mark Joyner's new book "The Irresistable Offer"
I highly recommend it, especially if you are ready to market.
Mark talks our visionary language now and is amazingly clear about the future.
He has probably made more money on Internet marketing than anyone, but now his book talks about the big change on Earth and how to market THAT!
He has the vision that marketing is going to move us through the transformation. Check it out before doing any marketing, this guy definitely knows his stuff.
And if you have not heard about the Matt Bacak book you should listen to the stuff at his website. I Had the opportunity after listening to Matt get interviewed by Mark Joyner, to talk with a counselor associate of Matt's for over an hour and got lots of insider information. All I can say is this 28 year old is leading the visionary pack of marketers. He is Mark's protege but has his own way and system. He is an expert at list building. He is a millionaire after going broke trying to make money on the Internet. He is spearheading an amazing online bestseller campaign that is making history because of the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.
Matt must be one of the most successful Internet millionaires ever. And he just turned 28 years old. He is now helping many others through his seminars, books, and donations. And everyone says he's a great guy, kind and generous with his time if it helps others. I suggest watching everything he does. I will take his course as soon as I possibly can because I have heard what happens at his seminars is breathtakingly leading edge and super effective.

This collage has Shiva and Parvati dancing amidst the flame of freedom held by the Statue of Liberty. This divine couple represent our own spiritual power to dance through the illusion of Maya and not be touched.
The transcendance of the marketing illusions in America is not easy. It takes extreme focus and balance.
Most of all, it takes 2 essentialsVISION & MUTUALITY.
The most practical visionary on the Internet is Michael Skyes of Vision Force. He has a plethora of resources and tools that will help you to manifest your vision in your life AND in your business.
Check out Michael's powerful newsletter, seminars, articles, and books too at his website here:
When it comes to MUTUALITY, Saniel Bonder is an expert on the principleand it
is a principle, an underlying principal of the Universenothing exists without being subject to the principle of Mutuality.
"Waking Down Into Mutuality" is how Saniel describes it. His workshops are successfully helping people to integrate this principle into their daily lives.
Saniel coauthored a book along with me and 37 other authors (like the Dalai Lama, Neale Donald Walsch, Deepak Chopra, Ram Dass etc.) called "Healing Our Planet, Healing Our Selves; The Power of Change Within to Change The World" released in 2005 by Elite Books and editor Dawson Church. I am offering readers of this blog a free copy of this $25 hardcover book, if they pay for the shipping. Just email me and let me know you want it.
For Info on the book:
http://neriahlothamer.com/healing.htm
Saniel spent time with Adi Da before joining Ken Wilber's Integral Institute.
If you haven't checked out Integral yet, you simply MUST! Go to:
http://www.integralnaked.org/Saniel's participation with Integral Institute is an essential part of the Institute's embracing of the principle of mutuality. His gentle techniques have helped many to "wake down". He is coming out with a book this month (January 2006) and is asking for list-mailing support on his campaign. Please help if you can, this book is desperately needed in the world. For Info on Saniel Bonder:

TELE-CONFERENCING
is now an essential tool for the marketer, whether online business or otherwise. I have spoken in the comments about this some, but I can not stress enough what I have learned about this technique is that it works very well for list-building as well as promoting products.
Alex Mandossian is the guru of tele-marketing. Listen to his conferences and hear why. In fact, I recommend you listen to all the recordings of his that you can. This guy does it with more finesse than anyone else on the Internet.
Whatever you are marketing can be done through a tele-conference which can become an Mp3 product and a downloadable bonus. Plus the list-building power of joint-venture tele-conferencing can be awesomely effective. Alex has the information you need to hear about this. He shares and teaches this technique at:
http://www.alexmandossian.com/

WHAT TIME IS IT? With only 6 more years to the end of the Mayan calendar, all the prophecies seem to point to this moment.
And it really does boil down to MARKETING!
We need to sell the world a different set of systems.
Non-polluting and peaceful systems that increase everyone's wealth, health, and enjoyment of Life.
Which is why us "Positive Deviants" are getting together.
Here are the links about the Positive Deviant phenomena:

3rd Cash Dharma Blog Post January 8, 2006
"Thanks for the great New Years email. I am checking out Daniel Pink's stuff because you recommend it so highly, it is interesting and I will look at it in detail tonight." I sent this comment to a friend and meant it.
By the way, that is exactly how the most loyal customers can find out about our products and servicesby being personally referred through a friend.
I have been realistically critiquing what is happening in regards to marketing, especially what I have learned through making allot of mistakes this last year (and yes my book marketing experiences this year have taught me much) and I want to share some very important things with you.
Okay, this is either going to be taken seriously by you or you will make the same mistakes I did, guaranteed. You will lose lots of money and waste valuable time that can never be regained. This is the map through it all. If you want to avoid the pitfalls then stay on course.
The map is a series of steps and an understanding.
The steps involve figuring out where you are and where you are going.
The understanding is how the terrain goesthe territory you are entering into.
I will be brief and I will give you the real nuggets I have charted out on this map. I will show you where the "oases" are and the hazards too. But everything I am going to tell you has much much more detail to it, so I warn you to fill in between the lines on this brief posting. You must use your imagination to apply some of this but I am going to keep it to the real facts.
First and most important are the 2 questions:
WHAT YOU THINK
YOU ARE DOING?
Yes, I write that to be read in two ways. As a statement, it means you are going to be doing what you think,
so pay attention to the thoughts that will lead you to your goal or away from itand keep checking the map for the shortest distance to your goal.
But it is as a question that I mean it the most.
What do you really think you are doing? Is this about selling a book? Or is it about selling this book and then repeating that same process for a few years? Or is it about selling this conference and many more? My point here is that
it is actually about your goal and the map; either you know where you are going and are using the map to get there OR you aren't.This map is useless unless you know precisely what you want to do.
So, first step is to
BE VERY CLEAR WHERE YOU ARE GOING.
The second step is to understand the one and only bottom-line rule about any kind of marketing:
ONGOING $uccess=a constantly growing list of loyal
and happy repeat-customers
AND
Providing a continuous succession of products and/or services
they NEED (or "perceive" they need) and CAN & WILL USE!
Whew, that is allot to understand in those few sentences. But unless you do understand, you will not be able to use the map I am going to show you.
So, The first part of that should be pretty clear;
if you want financial success you must get into A RELATIONSHIP with the customer.
A relationship that is so satisfying and helpful that they keep coming back for more AND keep referring all their friends too.
Make sure you etch that indelibly into your brain. In fact, tattoo it on the frontal lobe.
Doesn't matter if what we are selling is salvation and bliss, still have to make it salvation and bliss for the customer or they won't come back; and then you have to keep repeating yourself everyday, finding a new customer to replace the dissatisfied one.
So, once again, in the most simple words possible,
the real bottom-line of serious and intelligent marketing is to create a happy customer relationship.
Now, how it is done is what the MAP is all about.
The map is the territory with all the resources available
and the obstacles to avoid.
Okay, I don't want to seem like I am insulting your intelligence and being too simple about this; I just need to make sure you understand before I show you the map and how to use it or it may not make any sense. I know that for me as a new-age boomer involved in personal growth, I could not understand this stuff at first because it seems too materialistic.
But the real spiritual challenge to us now is to navigate this territory and bring the products and services of our own salvation and bliss to all.
I guess that is why I am putting the Cash Dharma Blog up here to stimulate our awareness that there are ways to navigate this map with integrity.
With that said, I am going to present you now with the map.
First of all, just as there are 4 directions to every map, this map has 4 directions too. Instead of North, South, East and West; what we have are the 4 directions or "ways" that this map can be travelled. In fact, to be truly successful,
you must go in all 4 directions at once. Let me explain.
When I first got into this stuff, I thought I was going in just one direction, I was a new writer with a new book to sell. I did not pay attention to the other directions and I lost allot of money and wasted allot of time.
There are four directions into which you will manifest your marketing.
Those four directions are like 4 different hats.
That's exactly what they are!
FOUR DIFFERENT HATS THAT YOU MUST WEAR
at least in some way (delegate?).
Without one or more of these included, you will definitely suffer and pay more than you ever wanted for what you get out of it.
So, have I made my point about HOW IMPORTANT these are?
Or do I have to show you the skeletons rotting in the deserts on this map?PAY ATTENTION TO ALL 4 DIRECTIONS for optimal success!
The 4 directions are:
>Copywriter>Webmeister>Phone (sales and customer service)
>Mailings (print mail, email, product delivery)
The Copywriter Hat is like North, it is the direction you use most to orient how you look at the map. You, or someone you trust,
must wear this hat more often than you realize. Don't hand me the line about being a writer and author, I am talking about the copy that you use everyday in endless ways to sell or represent your product to the public. And all the copy for the other hatscomes from this hat. The copywriter hat is the one you wear almost all the time.
Someone has to write the web-page copy and the email copy and the requests to reviewers or radio interviewers or bookstore owners.
ET-CETERA.This is so big a job that I paid out thousands of dollars to professionals who I thought would get the job done for me, but I should have shopped around more. I lost allot of money farming it out to people who do not care about my product like I do. They just wanted to make the $100-200 per hour and move on.
The truth is that the copy people read is the main way you get your message across to the customer.
HOW IMPORTANT IS THAT?
*More important than all the text in your book*
*because it is going to get them to buy and read the book!*It is your first impression, and you only get one first impression.
It is the motivator that catches their interest and fires up their curiosity.
It is why they decide to try your product or listen to anything else you say.

The copywriter hat is worn when writing the "touchstone" Mark Joyner speaks of in
"The Irresistible Offer"!
As I describe the other hats, the other directions your marketing must take, you will see even more how important the copywriter part is.
For instance, the Webmeister. Very few web page builders are also good at writing copy, and will charge you allot extra for the inconvenience to them--and not do a very good job. The hard part here is that most people are no that savvy about building good websites. And by "good" I mean websites that really work; they grab attention, keep it, and get you sales.
Do not ever think that just putting up a website is a one time affair. If your website is going to work it needs certain key elements always present. Things like a "landing page"--forget the old "homepage" idea. The first page your customers see must grab their email address and permission to join your list or newsletter. Then they can go to your home page or your special offer page.
ANDAll info on the websites must change on a regular basis, especially blogs and newsletters and home pages.Plus, who is going to keep track of all the emails and data from your list? And hopefully you have the foresight to allocate a special email box for certain list management so it doesn't always mix in with your regular emails. In fact, email list management is an art and takes some dedication.
Forget the spam filters, those will block out all your clients too and keep valuable info from coming in.
The best thing for spam is to remember that it is illegal. Simply "unsubscribe to any you do not want and keep a special email box and address for any email that might turn into spam, like replying to offers etc. That will keep your main email boxes less complicated with spam.
Obviously this is a hat that you would probably like to delegate to someone else. Research the options and ask your friends, then talk to someone with the expertise, check their past work, especially any testimonials, and remember that this hat is for the website and email management. That means the copywriter needs to feed lots of information and text to the webmeister regularly so that the webmeister can stay focussed on the complicated work of new text/images/links/layouts/pages/products, setting up auto-responders and testing.
The bottom line here is to remember that the website info and the email text will be changing all the time and you need someone familiar with html and your website setup to do thatall the time. I suggest a good relationship with only the best web-builder you can feel comfortable with and who delivers exactly what you want on time for a good price---good luck. (semi-sarcastically)
The website is so important that you do not want to do it yourself,
unless you are an expert and have the time.
Anyhow, the webmeister is an essential direction and hat,
one of the 4 primary directions your marketing will go in.

The Phone hat is worn many times; sometimes as a customer service person, sometimes as a public relations person, sometimes as an appointment setter or interview arranger, sometimes as a telemarketer.
How important is this?
Again, this is the first impression on many of fronts. It could be that radio DJ thinking about interviewing you, or the newspaper, or the bookstore for a possible book-signing. Or someone who wants to buy your book.
That is all important.
Even if you handle most of the incoming calls your self, what about the OUTBOUND calls?Don't think you are going to get away with emails. or ads, or letters--those are not enough to get you those interviews, and you need them to get the public awareness of your book to where you are selling massive quantities.
Okay, let me be perfectly honest here, maybe you can afford several hundred$ a month to use Radio Television Interview Report or one of those other similar services, but you better be ready to keep paying it out every month to keep getting those interviewsat least until you are so popular that they are breaking down your door for the interviews.
BUT A CHEAPER AND MORE CONTROLLED WAY is to hire some good talker to read what your Copywriter Hat tells them. Pay someone minimum wage even, tele-marketers do it all the time, lots of college kids willing to read your message to potential interviewers. Just write a dynamite telephone script. Ask for permission to email info, send it, follow-up with another call in a few days. Aggressively soliciting the radio stations is best. Sure they use the RTIR ads to search for some new talent, and there are services who call them up for you and have a relationship with them
BUTYou want someone on the phone periodically and regularly calling people and soliciting interviews, articles and news stories, and speaking engagements, book-signings and any publicity and press releases.Again, the phone person is going to want allot of help from the copywriter. A good copywriter will do the phone script, the email and follow-up scripts, and a whole series of auto-responder messages to the clients to keep reminding them of you as an interesting personality to interview or read about--as well as a whole package to mail to the most interested. The copywriter will also make sure the "press page" on your website has all the important and relevant information available, along with your schedule updated online, and articles you have available for print media.
That phone person could also call folks with a reminder message about conferences and seminars, especially tele-seminars.
Finally, there is the mailing hat. This is a direction you cannot do without. This means anything dealing with mailing. Whether it is mailing out the book that just got purchased or a brochure on the new workshop, there is allot involved with stuffing envelopes, packages, and inserting promotional materials and thank-you letters, sending out review copies and follow-up.
So you called and sent an email to that bookstore for a book-signing, or that radio station for an interview. When your specially colored large envewlope arrives PRIORITY Mail or fedEx and they see your photos, read your specially prepared copy, and listen to the cd with a sample interview on it and look over your autographed-to-the-DJ-book---THEY REMEMBER YOU and maybe pick up the phone this time and call you. Is it worth it? YES! These types of packages sit around their office as reference and they will use them sooner than any one elses because you made it special and it stuck in their head. If they don't call, you have the Phone Hat call them, "Hey did you get that big paisley package we sent the other day?" and remind them to look it over. And then you mail them another letter thanking them for the phone call.
It is important to remember, when you are using either the Phone or Mailing hat, that you are bound under U.S. Telemarketing and Mail order LAWS! Do not promise what you can not deliver! And products purchased must be mailed out at least within 30 days of purchase. Spam laws too are very rigid and strict now, so a regular overseeing of any material going out to the public is always necessary.
Also, I would caution you to never forget that you are going to be working with the 'secretary' mostly on mailings, emails, and calls. How important is the secretary?
SECRETARIES RULE THE OFFICE! If the secretary likes you, they make sure your info gets read by the boss. It is that simple. Don't be stupid and forget that.
Anything you can do to get on the good side of secretaries helps, send them flowers on their birthday even. What is that interview with Oprah worth to you? Well, you can try being really nice then to the secretary, build a relationship with the secretary that is like an alliance. The secretary is the door you must get past to have your information paid attention to.
Okay, I took longer than I thought to describe the FOUR ESSENTIAL directions your marketing map has. Now I am going to describe the main features on the map and how to use them. I will try to be brief here, so fill in the blanks.
On your marketing map, the biggest treasure is located on the Internet. Your websites and emails and Internet-posted articles are the 3 main keys to this feature. Your website has already been discussed somewhat and your emails too. The articles you can publish on the Internet are related to Blogs, ezines, websites, and newsletters that you can have these articles posted to. Is this important? YES! YES! YES!

The more articles you post around, the more things pop-up on the search engines with your name and links. Of course, every article you post also has a tag at the bottom with info about you, your email, and your web address.
Posting Articles is THE MAIN WAY TO INCREASE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE POPULARITY for free. The paid way is Google Ad Words. I have info on that too but it is too detailed to mention all of it here right now.
The main thing is that if you want to advertise or spend money on ads
USE GOOGLE AD WORDS INSTEAD!
They work much better than any other advertising on the Internet.
The next path to treasures online is VIRALLY building an OPT-IN LIST. By "viral" is meant that it is transmitted from person to person. In other words, you get someone to refer others to your website or special offer or newsletter or blog, etcetera.
The "opt-in" part means they are giving you permission to send them emails. There are lots of ways to do this and the state-of-the-art techniques involve some money.
But
on the most economically feasible level, this is the best way to build your lists: you get the people you know in your niche group who are marketing to their lists to send your copy to their lists. This works and I am sure you are somewhat familiar with the technique. Participating in other people's campaigns with your own bonus incentive that drives traffic to your newsletter or opt-in list is part of the many strategies employing this technique, offering an article or ebook or e-audio interview etc.
List-building is ESSENTIAL for your business online to function.
But it is the quality of the list rather than its size that is important.
THIS IS YOUR NICHE MARKET TARGET AUDIENCE LIST!
This is the list of YOUR CUSTOMERSYOUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS
IF THEY ARE HAPPY!
Remember, having your website "store" up online does not guarantee that the 1 billion people a day accessing the Internet actually walk through your door. You have the potential of millions per day coming through that door, but they do not even know you are there.
Your list is the key, if your list is happy with you, they will pass the word, especially if you ask them or entice them. Your job is to get those referred to OPT-IN.
List building is just now becoming a real science on the Internet, that means that YES THERE ARE WAYS TO DO IT WITHOUT SPAM OR BUYING UNKNOWN BULK LISTS! And one of the most successful ways is viral Opt-in.
Networking even further with people you know is called Joint Venture Partnering or using "affiliates". Affiliates carry and sell your products for a commission. Most affiliates are more likely to go for a reoccurring residual profits rather than an item by item sale. but it works both ways.
Joint venturing usually involves cooperating together for more outreach capability, like combining lists to promote a product, or especially teleconferencing, which is a definite edifice on the map. It can involve any number of factors, but
Joint Venture Partnering usually is resorted to for MUTUAL BENEFIT and FURTHER NETWORKING REACH.This leads to the most important NEW USE of TELE-CONFERENCING as a marketing tool used in conjunction with the Internet. I will outline my Tele-conferencing notes to you later on, but for now you must seriously consider participating in tele-conferences on a regular basis. I listen to 3-4 a week for the information and for my learning of the technique.
Teleconferencing is twice as powerful when combined with Internet resourcesin fact soon it all will be on the Internet because who wants to pay for an hour of long-distance time calling those tele-seminar numbers when you can listen on-line for free (and more lines open for it too)?
Tele-conferencing must focus primarily on
STRONG INFORMATION-LOADED CONTENT
and only briefly sell a related product.
The conference itself can be recorded and sold as a product too.
This is a great way to joint venture with a famous person and get interviewed, or to gain a reputation from interviewing other experts in your niche market. Sharing lists to promote it is essential to this technique, which especially benefits the partner who has a smaller list.
Again, I will go into more detail on the telemarketing process and how to use it, and especially how to prepare for it.
More than anytime, it is with tele-conferencing that you want to be careful to present a very informative, entertaining, and action-producing eventyour reputation spreads virally faster than any other means because of the "personable" presentation of your voiceit is more convincing than WHAT you actually say and it animates others to take action sooner AND THEY ARE EXCITED and tell all their friends about you.
NOTHING IS MORE POWERFUL THAN WORD OF MOUTHSo MAKE IT MEMORABLE!

Speaking of EVENTS---they play a major part on the landscape of your map. WHAT EVENTS? well, whether it is for the Internet sale, or conference at a convention center, or a book-signing, or a tele-seminar or a radio show interview, or speaking engagement
YOU WILL NEED EVENTS
and you will need to promote them.
Every event you attend is an opportunity for people to get acquainted with you and your books. Use hand outs, or mail outs, or anything that grabs their attention: bookmarks with your logo and email, biz cards, brochures, special discounts, posters, refrigerator magnetswhatever memento they will put someplace, and remind them about you, and be a conversation starter for any visitors they have.
AND RECORD EVERY EVENT as a potential audio/video product or free bonus.
And are you wearing all the hats you need to to promote that event? Did it get on the website and in the schedule? Did it get emailed to your list and all your joint venture partners? Did it get mentioned in the press? Was there a timely press release? Was there an interview or article in that locale while you were there? Any posters up around town? et-cetera.
AND A BROADCAST IS AN EVENT! If you got on Oprah or Art Bell you better let everyone know, because all your loyal customers are going to love to share the exciting news, "Hey my friend Joe is going to be on Oprah Friday." That kind of news spreads excitement and attention about you and your book that is infectuous. In fact, getting on major broadcasts is part of your goal, right?
Bruce Lipton sold more of Biology Of Belief on the Art Bell show than he did on all the days of his markeing combined before that point. Broadcasts are definitely landmarks on this map.
WHAT OTHER MEDIA IS THERE? Turning your book into an audio book, an ebook, an Mp3 download, a CD, a flash presentation, streaming, or A DVD EVEN! Any form that is produceable. Yes, Chicken Soup For the Soul is available in all those formats including BRAILLE and several dozen foreign languages. All these product-versions of your book and more can be started anytime, how about the book turned into a GAME!
Tele-marketing is another noticeable landmark on the map.
Most people cringe at the word, but really, anytime you talk to a potential customer on the phone, you are telemarketing. This can be expanded easily by paying telemarketers to read a script, but I doubt you would have a book sold very well that way without some special enhancements. However, paying some one to use your script and call people is perhaps more reasonable on a package that costs $2,400.
For instance, when Matt Bacak was interviewed in a tele-conference by Mark Joyner, he gave "a free one hour consulting session to the first 100 people" to sign up on his email list for his book promotion.
Well, that 1 hour conference was with one of his trained reps. This guy gave me an incredible amount of information about list-building
BUT what he also gave me was allot of info about Matt and his workshop in March. I was so inspired by his rap that I have been going around like crazy for the past month trying to get enough money together so I could afford to attend it. SERIOUSLY, there is hardly anything I want more right now than to attend that workshop with MattAll because I talked to this guy for an hour.
So, never dismiss the "telemarketing" style. It does work and most Fortune 400 companies all use this technique for that reason.
And last but not least, the old stand-by of all modern mediaPRINTNewspapers, magazines, brochures, fliers, newsletters, posters, biz-cards, Happy birthday cards, Holiday cards, calendars, signs.
There is a special relationship with any reader and the print medium, it is personally more private and more leisurely explored.
People can xerox it and pass it on, they can pin it up on the wall or magnetically on their dashboard or refrigerator. They will use the pen till the ink wears out and look at the name each time they use it. They will remember a few well placed words and an image much longer than they even remember your name. What are the print media you use to associate your name with something memorable?
Print media
ALWAYS CLAIMS SOME REAL ESTATE.
It is printed ON something.
Make it valuable real estate &
what is printed will be seen by many.
Find something valuable to your customers and print on it!
I still use the little new CD or DVD package opener, kinda like a specially designed letter opener, but anytime I need to easily open the plastic wrapping on a new dvd or cd, I use that little plastic gift from my local CD store with their name on itand it is so valuable to me that I make sure I know where it is at all times!
So never forget the power of print, even on the wierdest of items, the word is still mightier than the sword.
Okay, we are done. That's it. You now have the map.
